The Season Before Blooming

There is something tender about being in the almost.
almost graduated. almost certified. almost stepping into something bigger!
In June, I will graduate from OZ School of Massage and complete my WATSU® training — a modality that has completely reshaped how I understand surrender, support, and nervous-system healing. I can say that clearly now… but getting here hasn’t been simple.
Massage school has stretched me in ways I didn't expect. Physically, yes. Mentally, absolutely. Mostly, it has stretched my identity.
There were moments I questioned whether I could hold it all — motherhood, entrepreneurship, creative dreams, intensive training. Moments when my own nervous system needed the same grounding and gentleness I hope to offer my clients.
And yet… my vision feels brighter and clearer than ever.
Learning to Slow Down to Move Forward
Through studying therapeutic massage, reflexology, polarity therapy, acupressure, aquatic bodywork, and so many other modalities, one truth keeps coming back to me:
Healing doesn't happen through force. It happens through safety.
The body softens when it feels seen.
The nervous system resets when it feels supported.
Authenticity returns when we stop bracing against our own lives.
WATSU® has been one of my greatest teachers. Floating someone in warm water, feeling their breath change, sensing that exact moment they let go — it’s sacred. It has changed how I massage, how I listen, and how I hold space.
This work isn’t just something I do anymore.
It’s something I’m becoming.
Recently, I had the opportunity to sit in on a presentation and participate in a mock interview with a local massage team. I expected it to be a simple practice in showing up professionally—but instead, it felt like holding up a mirror to who I’m becoming and the kind of practitioner I want to be.
Talking about sustainability, practitioner care, ethics, and long-term vision crystallized something inside me. I could feel — in real time — the kind of environment I want to help build. The kind of culture I want to contribute to. The kind of leader I hope to grow into.
It reminded me that success isn’t just about growth.
It’s about integrity.
It’s about sustainability for practitioners as much as clients.
It’s about building something that truly lasts.
That conversation refined my vision in a way I didn’t expect — and I’m so grateful for it.
The Vision That is Growing
Starshine — my personal bodywork practice — is rooted in small rituals and thoughtful care. It’s about creating space to soften. To regulate. To restore. To reconnect.
But there’s something more quietly forming.
An integration of bodywork and nourishment.
Ancient wisdom woven into modern life.
Warmth. Spices. Stillness. Community.
I’m not ready to share everything just yet… but if you’ve been following along, you may have noticed little hints. A name here. A symbol there. A subtle weaving of herbal notes and sensory rituals is starting to take shape.
Let’s just say — the future feels beautifully aligned.
And bigger than I once imagined!
Graduating in June feels like crossing a threshold. Not because I’ll suddenly “arrive,” but because I’ll finally feel rooted enough to expand.
My intention has always been sustainable growth — building something that honors practitioner care, client safety, and long-term vitality. Creating offerings that don’t rush healing, but respect its pace.
This season has only strengthened that commitment.
I know what burnout feels like.
I know what depletion feels like.
And I am choosing to build something different.
What's Next
In the coming months and years, you’ll see:
Expanded offerings.
More aquatic bodywork opportunities.
Gentle nervous-system support protocols.
A deeper weaving of ritual and restoration.
Eventually, something entirely new will be unfolding.
If you feel the pull to slow down, if your nervous system has been living in "go" for too long, or if you're craving rest that feels intentional and supported, I would love to hold space for you.
Book a session with me, float with me, breathe with me, and let this be a season where you return to yourself.
Come Along for the Journey
This feels like the chapter before blooming — the season where roots strengthen underground and quiet expansion happens before visible growth.
I am so deeply grateful for every person who has trusted me while I’ve been learning. For those who’ve come to the table, floated in the water, and allowed me to be part of their healing journey.
Big plans are coming. Truly.
I’d love for you to stay close. Follow along. Share Starshine with someone who needs restoration.
We don't have to move at the pace of the world.
I encourage you to soften, slow down, and choose to return to your most authentic self.
And this?
This is only the beginning! ✨
